Throughout history, breweries have been a fundamental part of the communities they serve. Here at Trading Post, we are no different. Our modern day Craft Brewery and Eateries were born out of a passion for great beer and from our desire to serve the communities we call home. As we continue to grow, we look forward to sharing our passion for great beer and human connection at our Tasting Room and restaurants. We believe it is over a glass of beer and a good meal where friendships deepen, family ties strengthen and community unites.

Lance graduated from TWU in 2011 with his BBA in Corporate Finance, while playing basketball for the Spartans for five years. Upon graduation, he spent a year in the technology industry before switching gears to a successful career in the power tool industry. Lance was in industrial sales for Milwaukee Electric Tool for three years in Vancouver. With his Business degree and his experience in sales, Lance is ready and keen to make a splash in what he is passionate about: Creating BC Craft Beer. With the guidance of his father and uncle, Lance is equipped with the knowledge of previous successful start-up businesses, and excited to add Trading Post Brewing to the fantastic BC craft beer industry.

Tony Dewald has been leading the Canadian brewing industry for over twenty-five years and is coming to us from Old Abbey Ales. Not only is Tony is a legend in the Canadian brewing industry, he is also a legend in the Punk Rock music industry. Before brewing beer for a living, Tony was a founding member of a well-known Canadian punk rock playing gigs around the world. Tony has done many things in his professional life but brewing is where he found his real calling. After working as the brewer for the Mark James Group, he went on to brew at Dead Frog Brewing and most recently Old Abbey Ales in Abbotsford. Tony will lead the brewing side of the business as he brings incredible brewing knowledge and experience along with new and innovative techniques and ideas.

British-born Canadian Chef Andi knew she wanted to be a chef since she started her cooking career here in Langley in 2001 working at a local restaurant while studying at Trinity Western University. After graduating with her Bachelors in 2004, Andi enrolled in the Culinary program at VCC and graduated at the top of her class. She began working at Vancouver’s Fairmont Waterfront Hotel and later opened the Jean Georges Market Restaurant at the Shangri-La. In 2009, Andi travelled to London to explore the international culinary scene. There she gained experience working in numerous 5 star hotels, large scale restaurants, upscale catering companies and with a Michelin starred chef, Nathan Outlaw. Her most recent adventure was in Singapore working as the opening Head Chef for London’s eclectic restaurant MEATliquor. Andi brings all her experiences into the Trading Post Eatery, creating simple, full of flavour dishes while tapping into local & seasonal ingredients.

After graduating with a diploma in Public Relations, Hannah was on the hunt for the perfect job. She spent a year at a Casino on the marketing team, but found herself wanting more and so began the search for something new and exciting. As if it was fate, she stumbled upon Trading Post and the rest is history. Growing up in England to parents who love a good beer meant she was surrounded with various styles of traditional ales at a young age. Now a beer enthusiast, she is excited to continue developing her palate and trying any new beer she comes across. A lover of conversations and adventures, you’ll most likely find her out on the hiking trail with her dogs or introducing herself to new people over a beer.

Quinn Schneider He started his career in hospitality in 2012 with Cactus Club Cafe as a table busser. From there he quickly moved through the ranks and became a member of management in a year. He assisted in opening 3 locations for the company before leaving to pursue his passion for wine. After consulting for restaurant wine lists for a year, he opened an Italian Restaurant in downtown Edmonton as General Manager, and another in Walnut Grove the following year. Quinn brings a passion for culture, service excellence and guest experience to the Trading Post Eatery.

Amanda Becker is the Fort Langley Eatery General Manger.  As a teenager she worked in catering and quickly discovered her passion for creating a memorable guest experience.  After nearly 20 years in the industry with a handful of well-known restaurants and nightclubs all over BC, she has happily found herself back in her hometown and working with Trading Post.  When Amanda isn’t working or drinking beer, she can be found working towards her Degree in Human Resources Management at BCIT with a specialty in People and Culture Development.

A born & raised Prairie, Ashley had her heart set on the Western life ever since she can remember so she finished up her diploma in Marketing at the University of Manitoba and set her sights on the open road. Calgary stopped her in her tracks for about 10 years where she gained marketing experience in radio, sporting goods and then finally the food and beverage industry. Her time in food & beverage ignited her love for the industry and the people in it. She kept her eye out for job openings in BC and after patience paid off applied to the Marketing Manager role at Trading Post! Ashley continues to keep her eyes and ears out for new and unique ways of marketing but when she’s not doing that you can find her cooking and going on adventures with her dog Bruno

Ian hails from Portland, Oregon, one of the most beloved craft beer cities of North America. He grew up surrounded by a spirit of adventure, community, and pride of place. That’s why he was so excited to find amazing craft beer when he moved to B.C. That beer was made by Trading Post. Ian got a job in the original Tasting Room in Langley and has been there ever since. He brings a passion for quality beer, food, service, and adventurous experiences. At the Tasting Room, he enjoys every opportunity to introduce someone to the great beer Trading Post has to offer. He loves bringing customers and staff alike into the craft beer community, sharing the good times over great beer.

Oliver Tasting Room & Eatery General Manager

Michelle Gowing is the Trading Post Brewing and Eatery General Manager at the District Wine Village in Oliver. She has taken the Craft Beer and Brewing Essentials Course at Simon Fraser University and has been a member of the craft brewing industry for almost 10 years. In addition to her work with Trading Post, Michelle is an Instructor for Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Brewing program and has been the Home Brewing and Education Director for CAMRA South Okanagan for the last several years. She looks forward to continuing sharing her passion and knowledge of craft beer and brewing with the Okanagan community.
