As one of the first craft breweries in Langley, Trading Post Brewing Co. is pleased to present an award to a KPU student in the Brewing & Brewery Operations diploma program. This award is in the name of John Mitchell, the Grandfather of the modern day craft beer movement. He paved the way for all Canadian craft breweries, and we think it’s fitting for us to complete the circle as Trading Post works to enable young brewers to excel In the industry. Community and quality are the two values that Trading Post Brewing is built upon and it is on these values that a recipient for this award will be chosen. The recipient should be an enthusiastic student who volunteers in their community and who is an exceptional student. This award supports a full time student completing their first year of the KPU Brewing Program and entering their second year of the program in the fall.
Criteria: CGPA 3.00 or greater; preference given to a student whohas worked or volunteered at Trading Post Brewing and plans to work in thelocal craft beer industry; preference given to a resident of the Fraser Valley.
Amount: $5,000 over 5 years $1000 per year
